Japanese-Style Fried Rice (Broccoli Chahan)

Cha-han (fried rice) originally Chinese dish, and also It's one of the most popular home-cooked dishes in Japan. Egg and meat is usually main ingredients, but I add some vegetables. By doing so, I can take nutrients from a dish.

 130 g pork belly
 salt
 white pepper
 1 tsp potato starch
 130 g broccoli (frozen broccoli that is not boiled)
 50 g onion
 50 g carrot
 10 g garlic
 300 g cooked rice
 1 egg (I use L size)
 1 tsp soy sauce
 salt
 black pepper
 1 tbsp olive oil

Thinly chop onion, carrot and garlic. Cut the broccoli into small bite-size.

Cut the pork belly into 1 cm pieces. Sprinkle them with some salt, white pepper and potato starch.

Spread the cooked rice to remove the moisture of it (If you use cold cooked rice, heat it up, and then spread it). Crack the egg, and mix it well in a bowl.

Put the oil and garlic to a pan, and saute it over low heat.

When you smell the garlic, add the pork belly, and stir-fry it over medium heat.

When the pork belly gets brown, add the onion and carrot. Stir-fry them for 2 minutes.

Add the broccoli.

Bring the stir-fried vegetables to the edge of the pan, and add the beaten egg and cooked rice.

Mix the cooked rice while dividing it into pieces.

When the whole is mixed, add soy sauce, some salt and black pepper. If the taste is too bland, please add some salt.

Serve on a plate.
